Caledon will soon have a new Director of Public Works.

On February 5, the Town announced it had hired Scott Holmes for the position.

According to a Town of Caledon media release, Holmes has over 28 years of experience in the municipal sector and most recently worked for the City of Mississauga where he was responsible for the administration and supervision of city works yards, signs and pavements, maintenance and operations.

“His extensive knowledge and leadership skills will play a pivotal role in driving Caledon forward,” said the Town.

Caledon's Commissioner of Engineering, Public Works and Transportation Domenica D'Amico said she's pleased to welcome Holmes to the Town's team.

“I am confident that Scott will lead our Public Works department effectively and continue our legacy of providing safe, reliable, high-quality services to our community. This work becomes even more critical as we plan for the Town's significant growth and his extensive experience makes him a great asset to our team,” said D'Amico.

Caledon's Director of Public Works is responsible for leading the division related to maintenance and operations of parks, roads, fleet and forestry.

Holmes is looking forward to working with the Town of Caledon.

“I am excited to join the Town of Caledon at such a crucial time. It feels like a full-circle moment for me as I started my municipal career with the Town. The Town is growing rapidly and is well positioned to achieve its growth target of 300,000 residents by 2051 and I am glad to be part of that growth and contribute to its success,” said Holmes.
