<content-encoded><![CDATA[Dufferin-Caledon MP David Tilson has highlighted more than $20 million in federal gas tax funding to the Town of Caledon since 2005.
“The Town of Caledon has benefited greatly from the federal government's decision to transfer gas tax funds to local municipalities for infrastructure,” Tilson commented. “Over $20 million has flowed to the Town since 2005.”
Some of the projects which have been made possible through this funding include the Sneath Road pedestrian bridge in Bolton; the reconstruction of Elizabeth Street; the Heart Lake bridge reconstruction; King Street pedestrian improvements; road reconstruction in Inglewood; and the Bolton Arterial Road (BAR) project.
“Now that the Gas Tax Fund is permanent, municipalities like Caledon have a long-term, stable and predictable source of funding to help plan and execute important infrastructure projects,” Tilson remarked. “Through this Fund, our communities are getting the help they need to keep their roads, bridges and other infrastructure safe and up to date.”]]></content-encoded>
