The Pommies Cider Co. Wild are currently showing the way after four evenings of round-robin, post-season in the Sunday Night Hockey League, but their lead isn’t that great.
The St. Louis Bar and Grill Wings and the Mr. Handyman Ice Hogs are hot on their tails, and Caledon Hills Brewing Co. Brewers are not far behind in fourth place.
The Inside Out Family Chiropractic Predators was the only team to post a win last Sunday night, but they are still trailing the Glen Eagle Golf Club Griffins for fifth place. The Ken’s Lawnmower Repair Blades and the Ainsley Fire Protection Fire trail
One point is awarded for winning a period in round-robin play, two points for winning the game and if a period is tied, each team gets half a point.
Predators 2, Brewers 1
The first match of the night saw the Predators prey on the Brewers and take the narrow margin win, getting four points in the process.
Predator prowlers were Darren Jones from John Hutchinson, and Kevin Christie (unassisted). Brewers bin bulger was Brandon Scott from Brent Spagnol.
Wild 3, Blades 3
The second game of the evening saw neither the regular season leading Blades nor the Wild able to best the other, splitting the points 2.5 each.
Blades’ sharp shooters were Dan Maggio (unassisted), Bogdan Rapan from Darren Levy, and Shawn Simpson from Daryll Simpson. Wild warriors were Steve Whitten from Mitch Merante and Steve Brown, Dale Deleonardis from Whitten and Merante, and Jason Clark from Craig Shaw and Shaun Heron.
Fire 4, Griffins 4
Another tie with split points happened when the Fire and Griffins stayed even.
Fire firers were Mark Andreoli from Gus Kourousis, Kourousis from David DiMeo and Andreoli, Andreoli from Mike Andreoli and DiMeo, and Mike Andreoli from James Kennedy and Mark Andreoli. Griffins go-to guys were Richard Archer from Matt Dowdle, Alex Schittenhelm from Kevin Norris, Schittenhelm from Norris, and Brendan Pace from Schittenhelm.
Ice Hogs 1, Wings 1
The final game of the night was yet another draw with split points as neither the Ice Hogs or Wings could best each other.
Handyman’s lone marksman was Marc de Abaitua (unassisted), with the Wings main man being Victor Ranieri (unassisted).
