Three close games in IBHL action last week


Three of the four games last week in the Inglewood Ball Hockey League (IBHL) were decided by a goal or less.
The one exception was a big one, as it saw the Carney Plumbing crew post their first win of the campaign.
June 11

We Are Creative 2
In a nail-biter, AMD had a two-goal second period to gain the win and tighten their grip on the lead in the standings.
Bin bulgers for AMD were Jake Lake from Joey Lemos and Brad Crawford, Dan Wood from Paul Skates and Travis Watts, and Matt McNally from Lemos.
The We Are Creative crasher was Michael Spagnuolo with the brace, with help from Dom Klosowski, Alex Schittenhelm, Matt Geiser and John West-Carvalho.

George's Arena Sports 1
The two teams entered their match tied for third place in the standings, and that's just how they left.
In a saw off, neither team could best the other.
George's knocked first with Tony Sousa from Ryan Duval and Mitch Nail, while Elite answered in the third with Shaun Ridler from Marc Pannia and Ken Laramy.

Caledon Hills Cycling 1
Net nabbers for Carney were Ryan Zimmerman, Will Crowe (with three), Mark Olesen-Varnell, Brad McGitchie and Randy Avery, with help from Shawn Lane, Jody Spagnol, Elliott Draga, Zimmerman, Andy Sant and Brian Dunn.
Brandon Sinclair spoiled the shut-out bid from Sandy Shana and Travis Cassar.
Mr. Handyman 4
ZeeClean 3
In a last ditch effort, Mr. Handyman was able to squeak out the win over ZeeClean late in the third frame.
Handyman hammers were dropped by Anthony Villari from Luigi D'Agostino, Matt Scida from Tyler Levasseur and Chris Della Mora, Levasseur from Val Melo, and Villari from Fraser Neal and Justin Fiorino. ZeeClean sweepers were Cameron Batten from Robbie Gordon, Colin Bromley from Nick Brouillette, and Nolan Pearce from Bromley & Brouillette.
It was a combination of close matches and decisive wins in two nights of action the previous week.
When things had settled, AMD were all alone in first place.

In a nail biter, George's were able to pot a pair in the third period to garner the victory.
Bin bulgers for George's were Sousa from Cory Schittenhelm and Duval, Mike Garvie from Kelvin Young, and Young from Nail and Tommy Ursa. Caledon Hills cyclers were Shana from Sinclair, and Bobby Raine from Cassar and Sinclair.

Point getters for AMD were Lemos, Jason Duncan, Wood, Skates, Jozef Neu, Adam Biastrocci, Mike Desmarais, Watts and Crawford. ZeeClean zappers were Harry Gaebler from Chris Gikov and James Coulter, and Adam Moszynski from Brouillette.

With time ticking a away in the third frame, Carney broke the shut-out bid for Elite and battled back to earn the tie.
Spagnol was the sniper for the Carney crew, potting a pair of power-play goals for the tie, with helpers from the sticks of Will Crowe, Lane and Zimmerman. Elite lamp lighters were Steve DeFrancesco from Kyle Corcoran, and Chris Gionas from Thomas McAusland.

Mr. Handyman 0
Net nabbers for We Are were Alex Argiropoulos from Geiser, Alex Schittenhelm (unassisted), John Monti from Alex Hammond, Adrian Masina from Schittenhelm and Cody Doiron, and Anthony Fera from Giancarlo Mellace and Monti.

Lamp lighters for the Elite crew were Lino Zanardo from Jordan Porter and Dante Commisso, and John King (unassisted).

In a tight one, Mr. Handyman got in the extra hammer to take the win.
Scoring for Mr. Handyman were Della Mora from Stefanso Limotta, Fiorino from Villari, and Villari from Fiorino and Donato Dorazio. Carney flushers were Will Crowe from Lane and Don Crowe, and Lane from Crowe.
We Are Creative 2
George's Arena Sports 2
In another tight one, no one was able to be called a winner as the teams battled to a draw, knocking the Creative guys out of the first-place tie in the process.
George's go to guys were Cory Schittenhelm from Nail and Garvie, and Sousa from Young and Garvie. We Are Creative's creators were Alex Schittenhelm from Fera, and Maike Tarasco from Doiron.

In a double shut-out week, AMD go to guys were Sant, Biastrocci, Wood, Jason Duncan, Neu, Lemos and Watts.
