Thompson supports cyclingAs an avid cyclist, founder of Le Tour de Terra Cotta, and someone who has cycled in Caledon for more than 30 years, I was disturbed to hear recently a rumour about Allan Thompson's stance on cycling. Allan is a strong advocate for “safe” cycling in Caledon and has worked long and hard to promote our sport and sees cycling as an absolute “fit” with Caledon's healthy lifestyle focus. Cycling is taking the entire country by storm and is the second fast growing sport beside golf. Cycling, golf, tourism and Caledon, a great fit and Allan recognizes this. Le Tour de Terra Cotta has grown to be one of the premier cycling events in Ontario and awareness has spread Canada wide. Since 2005, Allan's support and assistance at the council tables and on the ground at the event has been unwavering. Caledon as a cyclist friendly haven will only improve under his leadership.
