Things get very tight heading into final games of senior hockey

Rutherford Global Logistics upset Fines Ford Lincoln 3-1 last Monday (April 1), which allowed George's Arena Sports to stay in contention for the Caledon Senior Hockey League playoff title.
If George's were to beat Bolton Chiropractic Centre in the final night of hockey for the CSHL and Fines Ford lost to Baffo's Pizza (results not known at press time), then George's took the crown. A win by Fines, though, meant the car dealers got the title.
In the other games, George's downed Baffo's 5-3 and Jiffy Lube Oilers defeated Bolton Chiropractic Centre 9-6.
Young, Speck shine
Paul Speck and Garth Young led the Rutherford troops over Fines Ford with a goal and an assist each. Bob McHardy had the other goal for the winners while Jack Gibson, Bill Moyer and Gary Faultless each had an assist.
Jim Horan scored the lone goal for Fines Ford.
George's keeps pace
Brett Smith, James Heenan and Bill Davis each recorded a goal and an assist to lead the George's troops. Sasha Fettery and Peter Coughill had the other goals. Steve Taraso had two assists for the winners with Joe Palumbo notching a single.
Mike Foley and Jeff Boyles each had a goal and an assist for Baffo's, while Jim Moyer had the other goal and Scott Woodcock chipped in an assist.

Dan LaBine was on fire for Jiffy Lube with Ron Sampson almost as hot.
LaBine had four goals and two assists while Sampson scored three and added two assists. Bill Doherty and Ian Kerr each contributed a goal and an assist. Jim Dunbar had three assists. There was so much scoring even goaltender Pat DiFrancesco got into the act, grabbing one assist, along with Dom Spignasi, Dave Livingston, Brian Samuel and Chris Spilar.
Rick Agar and Nick Taccogna had two goals each for Bolton Chiropractic, with Ted Callighen getting a goal and an assist. Howard Wight had the other BCC goal. Mike Shore and Bruno Fracassi each had two assists with singles going to Tony Calabro and Murray Hurst.
Fines was in driver's seat
Prior to last week's action, Fines was in the driver's seat.
The car dealers held a 3-0 record in the round-robin after consecutive wins the previous Monday and Tuesday. Fines walloped regular-season champion George's 9-2 Monday and then came back the next night to top Jiffy Lube 5-3.
George's bounced back Tuesday to edge Rutherford Global 7-6 and hold on to second place in the playoff race with a 2-1 record. Baffo's was third at 1-1-1, coming back Tuesday to blank Bolton Chiropractic 4-0 after losing 5-4 Monday to Jiffy Lube. In Monday's other game, Bolton Chiropractic defeated Rutherford 8-5.
Rotundo rolling
Nick Rotundo is the hottest player in the league, as he poured in five goals and two assists in Fines Ford's big win over George's and added two goals and an assist against Jiffy Lube. Jim Rogers was firing hard for Fines as well, notching two goals and an assist against George's and repeating the feat the next night against Jiffy Lube.
Also scoring for Fines Ford against George's were Horan, who also had an assist, and Pich Petrie. Clark Judge ran up four assists, as did Frank Cirone.
Randy Freitag and Steve Tarasco scored for George's, with Heenan, Palumbo, Davis and Luch Pinarello getting one assist each.

Baffo's 4, BCC 0
CSHL president DiFrancesco earned the shutout for Baffo's while Foley handled the scoring with three goals. Woodcock had the other goal. Single assists went to Dave Armstrong, Kevin Brown, Boyles, Steve Sanderson and Don Dupuis.
Jiffy Lube 5, Baffo's 4
Baffo's was caught with too many men on the ice in the last two minutes of the game, which meant a penalty shot was awarded rather than a minor penalty. That produced the winning goal by LaBine, his third of the night. Sampson scored twice for Jiffy.
