At the event, there will be 100 different six-by-eight inch canvases of art for sale created by artists from Ontario and beyond. The art was all donated, and proceeds from its sale will benefit Headwaters Arts. The 100 canvases will be unveiled together, forming a tapestry. There will be live music performances outside during the event from the 50-plus person Achill Choral Society and classical guitarist Vito Loschiavo. Nancy Kluger, Chair of Headwaters Arts' events committee, said the non-profit is amazed with the art received for the event. “We are thrilled with all the stunning works submitted and are so grateful to the 100 artists from across Headwaters Region, Mississauga, Halton Region, Toronto, Barrie and beyond for their time, talent and participation,” said Kluger. “New this year is an exciting partnership with artists from the Art Guild of the Purple Isles (AGPI) arts community in Florida Keys, who graciously wanted to support our event. It's simply great to have more art to enjoy, it adds yet another great component to our event.” Refreshments will be available for those attending, and anyone who purchases a piece of art is entered into a draw to win a framed, signed, original, one-of-one Charles Pachter silkscreen print. Pachter is a pop artist and the print in question is titled “Tour de Force,” which he created in 1986. Tour de Force depicts an image of a moose, rendered in black, standing on the edge of a high diving board as if about to take the plunge. Kluger is ecstatic to have the draw for the piece. “This is a fantastic opportunity to purchase original art, support Headwaters Arts and win an outstanding, and very special, silkscreen print by Charles Pachter,” she said. “I cannot say enough about Charles's generosity and how much he cares about the importance of the arts in our communities and the value of our art organization; we are truly grateful to receive one of his most iconic works for the draw.” The Tapestry of Art and Music event is free to attend, but a donation of $10 is greatly appreciated by the organization. Donations also enter you into the draw for the silkscreen print. Headwaters Arts hopes to continue to grow and offer more programs and opportunities for local artists. --------------------------------------------------- Images: --------------------------------------------------- --------------------------------------------------- Post date: 2024-05-23 11:38:44 Post date GMT: 2024-05-23 15:38:44 Post modified date: 2024-05-23 11:38:47 Post modified date GMT: 2024-05-23 15:38:47 ____________________________________________________________________________________________ Export of Post and Page as text file has been powered by [ Universal Post Manager ] plugin from www.gconverters.com
