Talk of the Town by Mayor Allan Thompson — Think of others this Thanksgiving holiday

What a great weekend!
The rain Saturday didn't dampen the mood for the Caledon Walk of Fame celebration. We honoured an extraordinary resident, educator, author and historian Ken Weber. Congratulations Ken!
We also had two businesses celebrating new and improved locations this weekend, Shopper's Drug Mart and Drake Apothecary both in Bolton. It was wonderful to hear the positive comments about business development in Bolton.
Our farmers will be busy this month with fall harvest, which means our farm stores and markets will be full of fresh local produce. Let's support our agricultural community and eat healthy local foods.
While we're talking agriculture, I want to remind residents that harvest time sees a lot of farm vehicles on our roadways. Combines, tractors and other farm equipment need a lot of room to maneuver and turn. Remember to share the road and be safe.
I always think of Thanksgiving as a time to be grateful for all we have and who we have to share it with. It's also a time to remember those who either don't have enough or anyone to share it with. We have some amazing organizations in Caledon that help support those in need, so please remember Caledon Community Services and Caledon Meals on Wheels and support them, as they support our community.
This year, when I sit down to my Thanksgiving dinner with my family and friends, I will give thanks for the food grown by our farmers, for the freedom to gather and celebrate together, and for the good fortune of living in Caledon.Allan thompson
