Sweet treats await at Island Lake’s Maple Syrup Festival

Tap into the sweet taste of spring at the Sugarbush Maple Syrup Festival at Island Lake Conservation Area March 24.
The annual festival, hosted by Credit Valley Conservation (CVC), offers families a chance to explore nature, learn about maple syrup production and sample the tasty Canadian treat.
The festival features blacksmith demonstrations, sugarbush tours, taffy tasting, wagon rides, giant games and all-day pancakes. This year, Island Lake Conservation Area partnered with local businesses to bring more to the festival experience. Visitors can participant in axe throwing and archery tryouts by Far Shot, discover the kids zone with Dufferin County Museum and Archives, get their face painted by Makin' Faces or explore and create art with Artsploration, a studio on wheels.
The Sugarbush Maple Syrup Festival is an annual event held in partnership with CVC and Toronto and Region Conservation Authority (TRCA). The event is also held at three additional locations, including Terra Cotta Conservation Area, Kortright Centre for Conservation in Woodbridge and Bruce's Mill Conservation Area in Stouffville.
With many sites to choose from and activities for the whole family, the Sugarbush Maple Syrup Festival is a seasonal favorite. Visitors can discover the history, customs, production methods and even the taste of real maple syrup. Through the festival, CVC and TRCA help visitors understand, enjoy and appreciate nature.
Visitors are encouraged to purchase tickets online to receive unlimited general admission to all four festival locations. For event hours, schedule of events and prices, visit maplesyrupfest.com. Tap into spring during the Sugarbush Maple Syrup Festival. Hours and days vary by location.
