They can, however, be a challenge to manage. Credit Valley Conservation (CVC) is hosting a Natural Pond Management workshop May 9 from 9 a.m. to noon at the Watershed Learning Centre at Terra Cotta Conservation Area, 14452 Winston Churchill Blvd. The workshop is for rural landowners living within the Credit River watershed. “This workshop is a great way for landowners to learn how to manage their ponds naturally,” said Mike Puddister, deputy CAO and director of watershed transformation at CVC. “The workshop will provide helpful tips on enhancing private ponds to benefit the local environment.” Participants will learn how CVC's Private Landowner Aquatic Planting Program can add more life and colour to their ponds. The program helps landowners select the right plants to use. It can even provide assistance in planting them. CVC's aquatic specialists will lead a guided walk to the Wolf Lake Bypass project. The workshop costs $15 per person, which includes the Natural Pond Management handbook. Refreshments will be provided. Register by May 7 at http://goo.gl/GaIcvA or call 1-800-668-5557 ext. 436. Participants are asked to dress for the weather. --------------------------------------------------- Images: --------------------------------------------------- --------------------------------------------------- Post date: 2015-04-30 10:20:57 Post date GMT: 2015-04-30 14:20:57 Post modified date: 2015-04-30 10:20:57 Post modified date GMT: 2015-04-30 14:20:57 ____________________________________________________________________________________________ Export of Post and Page as text file has been powered by [ Universal Post Manager ] plugin from www.gconverters.com
