Subway Athletes of the Week — May 8, 2014


Mayfield Secondary School Zoey Williams This 17-year-old has started showing her prowess in track and field, specializing in the 400 metres, as well 400 hurtles, in which she came in first in the first meet of the season. She also was a defender in flag football in the fall, and earned MVP honours in a tournament. Away from school, she's active in Brampton Track Club and plays house league in the Caledon East Soccer club. The Grade 12 student lives in Inglewood with her father Orrett Williams.

Hall Catholic Secondary School Sarah Trilesky This Grade 9 student is getting ready for the track and field season, in which she plans to specialize in the 100 and 400 metre events, as well as the 400-relay team. She also played defence on the varsity girls' hockey team that made it to OFSSAA. In the community, she plays hockey with the Brampton Canadettes and lacrosse with the Guelph Regals. The 15-year-old live in the Belfountain area with her parents Linda and Ken Trilesky.

St. Michael Catholic Secondary School Brandon Couture This 17-year-old is a handler with the school's varsity ultimate Frisbee team, which did well at its first tournament of the season. He also throws the javelin for the track and field team and was quarterback for the senior football team, as well as centre for the basketball squad. The Grade 12 student lives in Bolton with his parents David and Brenda Couture.

The 17-year-old lives in Bolton with his parents Herb and Deborah Jefferson.
