Subway Athletes of the Week — May 1, 2014


Mayfield Secondary School Madelyne Lang This Grade 12 student has been getting ready to contribute her skills as a defender to the senior girls' soccer team. She said the team was short-handed for its first game, but things are looking good. “We've a really good team this year,” she said. She was also part of the school's mixed curling team. Away from school, she volunteers as a soccer coach in Caledon East. The 17-year-old lives in Brampton with her parents Sue and Rich Lang.

She also played on the flag football team in the fall. Away from school, she's a rep player for the Vaughan Soccer Club. The 14-year-old lives in Bolton with her parents Lillian and Gerry Mazzatenta.

She also played defence for the varsity girls' hockey team which made it to OFSSAA. In the community, she plays in the Caledon East Minor Hockey organization, and she's also a member of the Twisters Gymnastics Club in Orangeville. The Grade 11 student lives in Caledon East with her parents Rob McCall and Michele Marple.

In the community, she also plays soccer for the Brams United Angels. The Grade 12 student lives in Caledon East with her parents Jackie and David Babcock.
