Subway Athletes of the Week — June 5, 2014
Mayfield Secondary School Kaley Robertson This 16-year-old has been making her contribution to the junior girls' rugby team, scoring two tries in the final game before ROPSSAA. She also played varsity field hockey in the fall and junior volleyball in the winter. Away from school, she plays volleyball with Acts in Orangeville. The Grade 10 student lives in Orangeville with her parents Kirk and Annette Robertson.
Robert F. Hall Catholic Secondary School Alex Riedelsheimer This Grade 10 student has been making his mark as a singles player in senior boys' badminton, having advanced a level. He was fifth at ROPSSAA. He was also a power forward in junior boys' basketball. Away from school, he plays squash in Vaughan and sometimes plays tennis. The 15-year-old lives in Palgrave with his parents Monica and Stefan Riedelsheimer.
St. Michael Catholic Secondary School Brody McLean This 16-year-old plays mid field and attack for the varsity lacrosse team. He's also interested in track and field, specializing in the long jump, as well as cross-country running. When it comes to his lacrosse, he is currently being recruited by some universities in the United States. The Grade 10 student lives in Bolton with his parents Terry and Cathy McLean.
Humberview Secondary School Bryce Start This Grade 11 student has been making his mark as a centre back on the senior boys' soccer team. In the community, he plays soccer for Bryst Academy in Vaughan. The 16-year-old lives in Mono Mills with his parents Penny Start and Gerald Loney.
