Student-Athlete of the Week Kieara Mighty’s “Lightning Fast Speed” led Wolfpack to Flag Football Gold![]() By Jim Stewart The “Lightning Fast Speed” featured by Kieara Mighty on the Varsity Girls Flag Football field is matched by her quick and successful transition to life in High School at Robert F. Hall. The Grade 9 student has impressed Wolfpack Coach Andrea Czyrka. “Kieara is a dedicated, strong, and naturally-gifted athlete with impressive knowledge of flag football at such a young age. Her experience and involvement in the sport outside of school has benefitted the team immensely. Despite only being in her first year at Hall, she has instantly become an inspiration on the field with her lightning-fast speed and reactions.” Coach Czyrka outlined Mighty's qualities as a student: “Kieara's transition from Grade 8 to Grade 9 has been a big step for her as she moves from the familiar environment of elementary school to the larger, faster-paced world of high school. She is continually gaining more independence, new responsibilities, and a wider range of opportunities and challenges both in the classroom and on the football field here at Hall.” What impresses Coach Czyrka the most about the rookie student-athlete is her natural athleticism: “Kieara's most impressive talents would be her incredible speed, agility, and overall strength. She moves explosively across the field, weaving past defenders with ease and precision. She is a major threat to defenders as she dips, turns, and pivots her way past opponents with both flags still attached. Coach Czyrka highlighted a key performance moment from the Wolfpack's Gold Medal-winning season which encapsulated Mighty's impact on the gridiron. “Kieara's composed demeanour does not appear threatening to opponents until she gets the ball in her hands. In the game against Mayfield, Kieara received a handoff in our own endzone and miraculously managed to weave her way down and across the field running for over an 80-yard gain and leading the team to a touchdown in just two downs. We are excited to see how she grows with the program here at Hall over the next four years. Kieara Mighty took time from her busy pre-Christmas schedule to respond to our interview questions: Caledon Citizen: What qualities did you demonstrate in your sports season to earn Student-Athlete of the week honours?
