Sports DQ Athletes of the Week — May 28, 2015
Robert F. Hall Catholic Secondary School Hailey Corvari This 15-year-old has been making her contribution to the junior girls' soccer team, which opened the season with a 4-2 record. She was also a running back in the fall for the flag football team. Away from school, she's getting ready for the rep campaign about to start for the Bolton Wanderers' Soccer Club. The Grade 10 student lives in Orangeville with her mother Nellie Corvari.
St. Michael Catholic Secondary School Devin Ellul This Grade 9 student has been making his mark as centre back on the junior boys' soccer team. The team has only lost one game, meaning they have nailed down first place and a berth at ROPSSAA. In the community, he plays rep soccer in the Caledon Bulldogs' organization. The 14-year-old lives in Bolton with his parents Ava and Vince Ellul.
Humberview Secondary School Taylor Hughes This 15-year-old has been making her mark as a pole vaulter. She been doing it for two years, and her best vault was 2.95 metres. She was at a recent tournament in London, where she was the top junior girl. She's also an active pole vaulter with 310-Running in Bolton. The Grade 10 student lives in Bolton with her parents Leanne and Shawn Hughes.
