Spook-tacular events coming to Caledon for Halloween

Caledon hopes you're ready for the fast-approaching spooky season, as there are numerous activities throughout the community to give you treats (and tricks) for days.

The season kicks off with Halloween Fun Night, hosted by BrightStart Caledon Family Center on October 23.

Attendees are encouraged to wear their favourite “non-scary” costume and come prepared to “have a great time.”

Families who attend will enjoy free children's Halloween crafts, playroom activities and more.

Pizza, beverages, lucky prize tickets and face painting will also be available for a small fee.

Registration is required before the event.

On October 24, the Town of Caledon is hosting a Halloween-themed edition of their Movies in the Park.

Halloweentown will be shown in a hybrid format, with viewing options including drive-in style or bringing a lawn chair and blanket.

They are asking for a non-perishable food donation for the Exchange through Caledon Community Services (CCS).

There will also be a Halloween costume contest, with awards for the best costumes in three categories: kids, family, and adults.

A Halloween photobooth with a professional photographer will also be available before the movie.

October 25 will be Halloween on the Fairgrounds, hosted by the Caledon Agricultural Society and Caledon Village Association.

Held on the Caledon Village Fairgrounds, the event will feature crafts, pumpkin carving, a haunted maze, music, cider and food.

The following day, Sunday, October 26, will be the Bolton Rotary's Haunted Hill Run/Walk.

There will be both a 1k Fun Run and a 5k walk/run, as well as a scavenger hunt and a high school and elementary school teams competition.

Additionally, for the Exchange, participants are asked to bring dry or canned goods or make a donation.

Pre-registration is required by Friday, October 24, but they will accept a few walk-ins that morning.

On Halloween night, Sir Lancelot Court residents will be handing out candy at the bottom of their driveways for accessible trick-or-treating.

By extending to the ends of residents' driveways, the barrier of stairs that people with disabilities may face during Halloween is eliminated.

This event is open to all members of the public.

PumpkinFest at Downey's Farm will continue to run right up until Halloween on October 31, featuring a “boo barn”, pumpkin patch, corn maze, live entertainment, and more.

No matter how you choose to celebrate, Caledon's Halloween events promise fun, creativity, and plenty of community spirit for all ages.
