SECOND HOME INVASION INVESTIGATION THIS MONTH


Officers from the Caledon Detachment of the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) are investigating a home invasion on The Gore Road, in the Town of Caledon.

“On April 12, 2025, shortly after 5:00 a.m., officers responded to a home invasion at a residence on The Gore Road, near Old Church Road,” say Police. “One occupant was home at the time.

“Preliminary findings indicate that five male suspects entered the residence and displayed a firearm, believed to be an imitation. After a confrontation with the occupant, the suspects fled in two vehicles: a newer model black or grey Acura TLX sedan and a black Volkswagen Tiguan. Minor injuries were sustained during the incident. Attached are images from surveillance footage.”

The investigation is ongoing by the Caledon OPP Major Crime Unit with the assistance from the OPP Forensic Identification Unit (FIS).

FATAL COLLISION

Officers from the Caledon Detachment of the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) are investigating fatal single-vehicle collision on Bramalea Road, in the Town of Caledon.

“On April 13, 2025, shortly after 1:30 a.m., Caledon OPP and emergency crews responded to a single-vehicle collision on Bramalea Road, near Boston Mills Road,” say Police. “Three occupants were in the vehicle. One passenger, a 21-year-old from Brampton, was pronounced deceased at the scene. Another passenger, a 20-year-old from Brampton, was transported to a Toronto-area trauma centre with serious, life-threatening injuries.

“The driver was taken to hospital with non-life-threatening injuries and was later arrested after officers formed grounds that their ability to operate a motor vehicle was impaired by alcohol.”

As a result of the investigation, Karanvir Singh, 23, of Brampton, was charged with:

Impaired operation causing death;

Impaired operation causing bodily harm;

Obstruct peace officer.

The accused was held for a Bail Hearing.

The charges have not been proven.

Bramalea Road between King Street and Boston Mills Road was closed for several hours while the OPP Technical Collision Investigators and Reconstructionists assisted with the investigation. Anyone who may have witnessed the collision or has dashcam footage is asked to contact Caledon OPP at 1-888-310-1122. IMPAIRED CHARGES

Members of the Caledon Detachment of the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) responded to a failed to remain collision and charged a driver with over four times the legal limit with impaired operation.

“On April 10, 2025, shortly after 2:00 p.m., officers responded to a report of a collision on Dotchson Avenue, where a vehicle had failed to remain at the scene,” say Police. “Officers located the vehicle and met with the driver. During the interaction, grounds were formed that the driver's ability to operate a motor vehicle was impaired by alcohol, leading to the driver's arrest.”

As a result of the investigation, Karanvir Mann, 33, of Caledon, was charged with:

Operation while impaired - blood alcohol concentration (80 plus);

Operation while impaired – alcohol;

Dangerous operation;

Fail to remain;

Fail to report damage to property on highway.

The accused is scheduled to attend the Ontario Court of Justice in Orangeville on May 1, 2025, to answer to the charges. The driver's licence was also suspended for 90 days, and the vehicle impounded for seven.

The charges have not been proven.

DRUGS SEIZED

Officers from the Dufferin Detachment of the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) executed a search warrant at a residence in Orangeville.

“During the operation, they seized a quantity of drugs, including cocaine, psilocybin along with other illegal items. Two individuals were arrested in connection with the incident,” say Police. “In the spring of 2025, the Dufferin OPP launched a drug trafficking investigation in the Town of Orangeville in response to numerous public complaints. On April 9, 2025, members of the Dufferin OPP Community Street Crime Unit (CSCU), with assistance from the Collingwood CSCU and Dufferin A Platoon, executed a search warrant.”

The operation resulted in the arrest of two men:

As a result, Kyle Mackenzie, 38-years-old, from Orangeville has been charged with:

Traffick in Schedule I substance- Cocaine;

Poss of a Schedule I substance for the purpose of Trafficking – Cocaine;

Poss of a Schedule III Substance;

Possession of Weapon for Dangerous Purpose;

Unauthorized Possession of Weapon;

Unauthorized Possession of Weapon.

As a result, Burim Gajtani, 41-years-old, from Grand Valley has been charged with:

Poss of a Schedule I Substance- Cocaine

The charges have not been proven.

The following items were seized during the investigation:

16 grams Cocaine;

14 grams psilocybin;

Canadian currency;

Metal homemade nun chuck

Brass knuckles

Three blade punching device.
