Save Swan Lake, says readerThanks to the Citizen for front page coverage, and kudos to reporter Riley Murphy for the detailed and thorough coverage of the "Swan Lake" issue. On July 8 at Council, over 150 citizens gathered to protest Mayor Groves' flawed motion to permit infilling of the lake. Not only did the article reveal the initial error in the motion that Town Clerk Klingenberg refused to acknowledge, it also outlined the illegality of putting forward a motion that violated the Town's own zoning and infill by-laws. The citizens who attended and tried to delegate deserve our full support. The Town staff, both elected and anointed, who tried to silence the voices of our citizens should start looking for another job. We deserve better governance. Skid Crease Caledon |
