It is being hosted by the Rotary Clubs of Palgrave, Bolton, Orangeville, Erin, Shelburne and Orangeville-Highlands. The speakers will be Dr. Gary Lewis, director of the Banting and Best Diabetes Centre, and Dr. Maria Cristina Nostro, principal investigator with the McEwan Centre for Regenerative Medicine. About one in four Canadians are affected by diabetes, and there are approximately a million people who don't know they have it. There will be roughly 438 million with the disease worldwide by 2020. Scientists at the McEwan Centre have made significant progress in developing insulin-producing beta cells, which could eliminate the need for daily multiple insulin injections for diabetes patients. Tickets for the dinner are $55. For information, contact Ingrid Sproxton at 519-942-0267. --------------------------------------------------- Images: --------------------------------------------------- --------------------------------------------------- Post date: 2014-04-04 17:28:36 Post date GMT: 2014-04-04 21:28:36 Post modified date: 2014-04-04 17:28:36 Post modified date GMT: 2014-04-04 21:28:36 ____________________________________________________________________________________________ Export of Post and Page as text file has been powered by [ Universal Post Manager ] plugin from www.gconverters.com
