Rosa acclaimed back to Council

Registrations to be on the ballot for the upcoming 2026 Municipal Election closed on August 21 all candidates have been finalized – and one candidate has been acclaimed back to the Council Table.

Tony Rosa Councillor for Ward 5 and candidate for Regional Councillor for Wards 4,5 and 6 does not have any opponents for this election therefore he will be acclaimed back to Council. 

Rosa was first elected as Councillor for Ward 5 in 2018 and was re-elected for his second term in October 2022. 

Rosa took to social media on Saturday expressing his thoughts on becoming Regional Councillor for Wards 4,5,6. 

“I am truly humbled and honoured to be acclaimed as the next Regional Councillor for Wards 4,5 & 6 in the Town of Caledon,” says Rosa. “Thank you to everyone who has supported and encouraged me throughout this journey. Your confidence means a great deal to me, and I look forward to serving residents of Wards 4,5 &6 in this new capacity.”

Looking to the future Rosa expressed his excitement about this opportunity and the unity he hopes to continue in Caledon. 

“Together we will continue working to build unity and community across Caledon, strengthen our villages and hamlets and ensure that the voces residents and business owners are heard and represented”, says Rosa. “I am excited about this opportunity ahead and remain committed to serving with dedication, integrity and a strong focus on the future of our municipality.”
