<content-encoded><![CDATA[An April 2 Reduce Impaired Driving Everywhere (RIDE) spot check resulted in a 28-year-old Caledon man being charged with more than an alcohol offence.
Caledon OPP reports officers were running the spot check on Mountainview Road shortly after 4 p.m. when they stopped a silver Chevy Equinox. They immediately saw a bag containing a green leafy substance consistent with marijuana protruding from the driver's coat pocket. The officers seized the substance and further observed that the driver displayed signs of impairment by alcohol. He was asked to produce a sample of his breath and registered a fail.
He was charged with driving with more than the legal limit of alcohol in his system and possession of a schedule II substance.
His licence was lifted on the spot for 90 days and the car was impounded for seven days.]]></content-encoded>
