Peel employees contributed to the United Way Day of Caring Nov. 13

Hundreds of volunteers spread across Peel to roll up their sleeves to show that they care about community Nov. 13.
Depend and United Way came together to promote healthy, active and independent living throughout an individual's life with a focus on volunteering. A group of 200 volunteers from all over Peel spent the day picking up litter, planting trees, organizing donations, assembling craft kits and much more. With 22 project locations across Peel, there were hundreds of volunteers coming together to create a meaningful impact in Caledon, Brampton and Mississauga, while learning more about United Way of Peel Region's investment in the community.
“Day of Caring is a chance for our donors and volunteers to provide a ‘hands-on' project for the community, and allows us a chance to educate them further about the difference they're making in people's lives,” said United Way of Peel Region CEO Shelley White. “We couldn't do our work without their tremendous involvement. Their work proves to everyone that together, we are possibility.”
The day was sponsored by Depend.
“In support of over 3.3 million people experiencing bladder leakage, Depend is committed to changing the conversation, breaking down the stigma, and helping people live active and fulfilling lives through raising ‘underwareness,'” said Brian M., Position. “As this year's Day of Caring sponsor, we thought this was a great way to get out in the community, volunteer, and show everyone that wearing a different kind of underwear is no big deal. We are proud and honored to partner with United Way to provide the essentials for a better life for those in need in our local community.”
Participating employees were from ARI Financial, Baxter, Citrix, Clorox, ConAgra Foods, D+H, Dupont, Edward Jones, Grant Thorton LLP, Hershey, Ingram Micro, Intact Insurance, JPX2 Consulting Inc., Kimberly-Clark, Mark IV, PCL, Primerica, Region of Peel, Southwire, Target, TransAlta and Xerox.
