This was a couple of days before the holiday, courtesy of Peel Regional Paramedic Services (PRPS) and the Peel Paramedic Association (PPA). “We are thrilled that Peel's paramedics have again donated the proceeds of their toy and diaper drive to Peel Children's Centre,” said PCC's CEO, Humphrey Mitchell. “This outpouring of generosity will make the holidays a much brighter time for several families that are struggling with serious mental health challenges and material needs.” Annually, during November and December, PRPS and the PPA partner to host a toy and diaper drive where paramedics, Regional support staff and many organizations throughout Peel drop off hundreds of toys and thousands of diapers into donation bins at paramedic stations throughout Caledon, Brampton and Mississauga. “This year marks our fifth toy and diaper drive in support of the Peel Children's Centre,” said Brad Bowie, community relations specialist with PRPS. “To be able to help our community this holiday season by donating gifts for Peel's children and their families is a privilege.” PCC is a fully accredited, charitable children's mental health centre that has served Peel since 1985. Each year, PCC provides more than 6,900 services free-of-charge for children and youth under age 18 and their families, who are experiencing serious mental health challenges such as aggression, defiance, impulsivity, anxiety, depression, attachment disorder, attention deficit/hyperactivity disorder and self-harm.
