The Club's 16th annual tasting event is set to go at the Caledon Equestrian Park in Palgrave June 7, starting at 6pm. Those joining in the tour will have the opportunity to sample from a selection of more than 60 wines from 16 countries, as well as beers from two micro breweries and locally produced cider. Again this year, the event will benefit from the support and knowledge of wine consultant Steve Thurlow, a resident of Caledon and a avid wine aficionado whose expertise will again ensure a memorable selection for this year's wine tasting. He has advised that the choices for this year's event represent exceptional value at about $12 a bottle on average and are all available at LCBO outlets. For $40 per person, guests will enjoy a unique wine-tasting evening, plus a selection of hors d'oeuvres, cheeses, sandwiches, fruits veggies and dip plus Palgrave Rotary's delectable oven-roasted sirloin sliders. Among the many door prizes is a free motorhome weekend compliments of Motor Home Travel of Bolton. Tickets can be purchased in advance from members of Palgrave Rotary, Migrations Travel and Cruise Centre in Palgrave, the Palgrave Café, The Naked Vine in Bolton, Forster's Book Garden in Bolton and Howard the Butcher in Caledon East. Credit card purchases can be arranged by calling 905-583-0200. The continuing success of this much-anticipated event is due in large part to members of the local business community whose active participation has immeasurably led to the growth and success of the wine tasting over the past years. Lead roles as Platinum Sponsors have been taken by Cavalier Transportation Services; Hub International Ontario Ltd; Ra-Tech Electrical Services; and Paul Manchester, wealth advisor at Scotia McLeod.
