Brownell's expressive paintings will bring her audience face to face with those candid moments lost in the hurried pace of everyday life. “My paintings are visual thoughts I take an idea, a feeling, a memory or an experience and express it through this medium,” she said. “Moments in Between is a collection of seemingly uneventful glimpses into everyday life that intrigued me.” Born on the island of Terceira in the Azores, Brownell moved to Toronto as a child and began painting more than 15 years ago. A full-time artist now, she splits her time between her home studio and The Bartlett Gallery in the Alton Mill, where she is the director. Brownell began showing more than 10 years ago, and her work has been featured in shows across Ontario. Her awards have included the People's Choice at the 125th Birthday Celebration in Shelburne. Her design was also chosen for the new flag representing the Township of Amaranth. Her work is in private collections across Canada and the United States. Moments In Between runs until Nov. 3. --------------------------------------------------- Images: --------------------------------------------------- --------------------------------------------------- Post date: 2013-10-31 10:05:56 Post date GMT: 2013-10-31 14:05:56 Post modified date: 2013-10-31 10:05:56 Post modified date GMT: 2013-10-31 14:05:56 ____________________________________________________________________________________________ Export of Post and Page as text file has been powered by [ Universal Post Manager ] plugin from www.gconverters.com
