OPP has new commander for this region

OPP Commissioner Chris Lewis has announced Superintendent J.E. (John) Tod has been appointed Regional Commander for OPP's Central Region.
The appointment took effect Jan. 27. With this appointment, Tod has been promoted to Chief Superintendent.
Tod has been a member of OPP for 26-years, beginning his career at the Little Current detachment in North East Region. He has also served in East, West and Central Regions, with extensive experience in the identification field, having worked at various units and as manager of Forensic Identification Services.
Tod has also worked in the Anti-Rackets Branch and as manager of the then Technical Support Section, director of the former Behavioural Sciences Section, acting commander of the Business and Financial Services Bureau and director of the Provincial Police Academy. He is also a graduate of the Canadian Police Executive Development Program.
“Chief Superintendent Tod's career is one that has provided him with the knowledge and expertise to effectively lead the OPP's Central Region,” stated Deputy Commissioner Vince Hawkes, provincial commander of Field Operations. “I am confident that under Chief Superintendent Tod's leadership, the men and women of the OPP Central Region, both uniform and civilian, will continue to embody the OPP Vision, ‘Safe Communities, A Secure Ontario.'”
Tod has replaced Chief Superintendent B.W. (Brad) Blair, who was recently promoted to Deputy Commissioner and now serves as the Provincial Commander of Traffic Safety and Operational Support.
