Open auditions coming for new Blackhorse musical comedy

The Blackhorse Village Players are inviting members of the community to audition for their upcoming production of Ug, The Caveman Musical, written by Jim Geoghan.
It is Year 3, as they follow Ug and his feisty tribe of Neanderthals in this musical-comedy romp through the Stone Age. While the tribe feasts on wild boar, Ug decides to tell one of his many feats of bravery by re-enacting the event, and by doing so, he accidently creates live theatre, an entirely new way of telling stories. The tribe agrees to perform this thing called a “play” to a rival tribe. Divas, costume revisions and script rewrites cause nothing but friction during rehearsal. A hilarious prehistoric look at show business when there was no business.
Audition dates are March 14 at p.m., and March 23 and 25 at 7 p.m. Auditions will be at the Blackhorse Theatre at 17272 Mount Wolfe Rd. at Highway 9.
Auditions are open to men and women of all ages. Participants are asked to provide a song of their choice, sung acappella or supply a CD/USB mp3 with accompanying music, and also perform a two-minute monologue of their choice. Rehearsals dates will be set after casting.
Performance dates for Ug, The Caveman Musical include May 27, 29 to 31, June 5 to 7, and 11 to 13.
