November has been Woman Abuse Prevention Month

At Family Transition Place (FTP), the goal is to put the agency out of work.
This month, in support of Woman Abuse Prevention Month, they encourage people to get involved.
Last year, FTP received more than 3,000 calls on the crisis information line and helped over 1,000 women with direct programming through their emergency shelter and counselling services.
The public is invited to participate in showing support for ending woman abuse by purchasing, wearing and telling others about the $15 Wrapped in Courage purple scarf, available for purchase at Scotiabank branches in Orangeville and Bolton. Scotiabank has offered to match all scarf sales in November, so be sure to get one while quantities last.
FTP also invites people to make a pledge and support the Help End Woman Abuse campaign. All pledge supporters will be recognized in the December issue of snapd Dufferin and on the FTP website. Pledges have to be received before Nov. 21 to make printing deadlines.
Make a pledge online at www.canadahelps.org/en/charities/family-transition-place/endwomanabuse/
