Nominations open for Volunteer Service, Citizen Achievement awards

By Zachary Roman

Do you know someone who's made a significant impact in the Caledon community? How about someone who's made Caledon proud with their skills in a competition?

If the answer to either of those questions is yes, you may want to know that nominations are now open for Caledon's 2023 Community Recognition night.

Community members can nominate Caledon residents for Volunteer Service Awards, which “recognize Caledon residents whose efforts have made significant impact towards the development and advancement of recreational sports, arts and culture, environmental leadership or community and social services.”

They can also nominate Caledon residents for Citizen Achievement Awards, which “recognize Caledon residents who have competed or been recognized at the Provincial, National or International levels in the areas of sport and arts and culture.”

There's also the prestigious Community Champion award, which is the highest honour given out on Community Recognition night. This award is chosen by a special selection committee and is then approved by Town of Caledon Council. Nominees from all categories will be considered for the award, and the committee will base their decision on significance of community involvement and years of service.

Nominations must be submitted by Sunday, February 19, and can be done so on the Town of Caledon's website. More information about the Town of Caledon's 2023 community recognition night will be released at a later date.
