No shortage of goals in action


There was lots of scoring Dec. 10 in Sunday Night Hockey League action, but not a lot changed on the standings.
The Pommies Cider Co. Wild dropped from fourth place to a tie for fifth after coming out on the wrong end of the second win of the season for the Glen Eagle Golf Club Griffins.
In the other games, the Inside Out Family Chiropractic Predators blanked the Ainsley Fire Protection Fire, the Mr. Handyman Ice Hogs edged the Caledon Hills Brewing Co. Brewers and the Ken's Lawnmower Repair Blades maintained their grip on the lead by slashing the St. Louis Bar and Grill Wings.
Predators 3,
Fire 0
Alex Nordheimer was a wall in the first game and earned the shutout for the Predators over the Fire.
Predators' power came from Scott Cantelon from John Hutchinson, Steve Hutchins from Fab Iafano, and Hutchins from Iafano.
Griffins 5
Wild 4
The next game saw a see-saw battle with the Wild ending up on the losing end to the Griffins.
Go-to Griffins were Alex Schittenhelm, Mike Brioux and Matt Dowdle with singles and Ron Toffan with a pair. Assists were from the sticks of Brendan Pace, Brioux, Schittenhelm, Mike Horsley, Dowdle, Toffan and Richard Archer.
Wild whippers were Craig Shaw and Steve Whitten, each with two, with help from Randy Isenberg, James Sheridan, Shaun Heron, Dale Deleonardis and Mitch Merante.
Ice Hogs 7,
Brewers 6
The third match was a shooting gallery for both sides, with 13 goals amassed between the Brewers and Ice Hogs.
Handyman heroes were Brad Sztorc and Jon Hoy with two each and Mark de Abaitua, Graham Bryson and Matt Moss with singles. Assists were from Eric Cirone, Steve Pinarello, Moss, de Abaitua, Greg Keenan and Bryson. Brewer bashers were Brandon Scott and Jay Beech with a pair each and Bob McHardy and Joe Doan with singles, helped by Beech, Lee Noseworthy, McHardy, Steve Conforti and Mike Swan.
Blades 7,
Wings 1
The last match of the evening saw the Blades cut into the short-benched Wings and take the large-margin win.
Blade bin bulgers were Brett Appio, Shawn Simpson, Greg Fuller, Daryll Simpson, David Payne and Darren Levy, with help from Scott Drouillard, Simpson, Mark Bauldry, Dan Maggio, Bogdan Rapan and Appio. The Wings' lone marksman was Daniel Hamlett from Rob Thibeault.
