NO INJURIES IN FRIDAY FIRE

NO INJURIES IN FRIDAY FIRE There were no injuries reported after a fire went through this house on Duffy's Lane Friday afternoon. Caledon Fire and Emergency Services received the call at about 3 p.m., according to Deputy Fire Chief Mark Wallace. He said someone reported seeing smoke coming from the house, which is set well back from the road. By the time fire crews arrived, things were “fairly heavily involved” at the rear of the structure, which did not appear to be occupied. The department needed about 12 pieces of apparatus to deal with the fire because they had to set up a tanker shuttle to get water to the site. Wallace said the fire seems to have started in a gazebo at the rear of the house, and then it spread to the main building. Photo by Bill Rea
