Caledon Fire and Emergency Services report there were no injuries, but an estimated $250,000 in damage after a fire early Saturday morning at the attached garage of a house on Birchlawn Road in Bolton. The call was received at 2:34 a.m. Upon arrival, firefighters found a detached two storey home with flames showing through the roof of the two car garage. Only one occupant was home at the time and was out of the house upon the arrival of fire crews. They initially used a large master fire stream to knock down the large volume of flames in the garage prior to commencing an offensive attack using hand lines inside the house and garage. Crews worked in the -22 degree bitter cold, and brought the fire under control within 90 minutes. Eight fire apparatus and approximately 35 fire fighters were on scene from the Bolton, Palgrave and Caledon East stations. The cause of the fire is under investigation.
