Neighbourhood Watch helps keep communities safe from crimeAre you concerned about keeping your community safe? Would you be interested in taking an active role in crime prevention and community safety matters in your local area? If so, Caledon OPP welcomes you to come out and attend an information session on the Neighbourhood Watch program. Neighbourhood Watch is a community led program supported by police. It helps teach residents what they can do to improve the level of security in the community, enhance a sense of cooperation and responsibility between neighbours, reduce preventable crime and residents' perceptions of crime, encourage the reporting of crime or suspicious activity, and strengthen police-community relationships. There will be information sessions Nov. 22, starting at 7 p.m. at Alton Community Centre, 35 Station St. in Alton, Nov. 29 at 6:30 p.m. at Puddle Jumpers Prepschool at 12570 Kennedy Rd., Unit 5, in SouthFields Village and Dec. 4 at 6:30 p.m. at the Margaret Dunn Community Centre at 20 Snelcrest Dr. in Valleywood. Space will be limited at these sessions, so those interested in attending are asked to reserve a spot by sending an email to Constable Tamara Schubert at tamara.schubert@opp.ca Those who are not able to attend a session but would like more information on the program can contact Schubert at 905-584-2241 ext. 4054. |
