Minor midgets get to mentor tykes


The Caledon Hawks minor midget AE Rep team spent a great day Sept. 13 organizing and holding a practice for the Hawks tyke 1 club.
The minor midget Hawks invited the tykes to the practice to help develop their skills through on-ice drills designed by the older boys. The tykes then were able to participate in off-ice dryland exercises, again designed and organized by the minor midget players.
It was a wonderful experience for both teams as the minor midget players were able to provide mentorship to the tyke players, while the tykes were able to see and learn from the skills of the older players.
“I am proud of our boys as they spent a lot of time putting the exercises together, and they really got a lot out of seeing their hard work enjoyed by the little fellas,” minor midget coach Mark Eggengoor commented. “I saw a lot of smiling faces out there so I know everyone had fun!”
The minor midgets are grateful for the support received from their sponsors BMO, McCarron's Feeds and Needs, Key To Life Financial Services Inc., and Salisbury Garden Supplies in their season development and training.
