Minor bantam Hawks heading to quarter-finals

The Caledon Hawks minor bantam AA team has gone undefeated on home ice in regular season play this season, setting a record for a 2001 team at the AA level.
The season took off quickly as the AAs rose early to second place in the Bowen Division of the Tri-County League. They battled each team as they landed on Caledon turf.
The height of their success was achieved when the Hawks beat the first place Burlington team, and then finished their last home game Dec. 22 with a win against the Woolwich Wildcats — both on home ice.
Regular season statistics included nine shutouts, 100 goals for the Hawks and only 42 against, for a team record of 22-4-2, holding on to second place overall. Coaching staff are very proud of the boys' accomplishment to date and look forward to an exciting OMHA playdown run.
The Hawks have now advanced to the quarter-finals of the OMHA and will be competing against Belle River in the upcoming weeks for their next playoff spot.
The team would like to thank sponsors KMR Specialty Steel Ltd., E.A.M.A. Precision Machine and Tool Co., Schneider Electric, Calder Consulting, GFK Research, Crunch Research, Scotiabank, Agway Metals Inc., Dr. Robert Ames, Bargain Tire Auto Centres, Canadian Black Belt Academy, Dr. Andrew Howarth, Grogan/Walsh Group.
