Midget MDs dominate Intra City finals

By Frank Grande
The Caledon Hawks midget MD Team completed a dominating season by winning the Intra City League Championship March 18 at Earnscliffe Arena in Brampton.
The Hawks faced The Brampton Wolfpack in the one-game take-all final after a six-game round-robin playoff series. Storming to a 4-0 lead after one period, the Hawks never looked back and added goals in the second and third periods for a 6-3 victory.
The championship capped off a great season for the Hawks, which saw them also add the Bradford Blue and Gold Classic Tournament championship to their record. The Hawks also reached the semi finals in three other tournaments and recorded a regular season record of 19 wins, three losses and three ties.
“Mission accomplished,” said Head Coach Frank Grande. “Right from the very first practice, I knew we had something very special with these boys. On the ice and off, they are the best team I have ever coached in all my years of hockey. I am honored and thrilled to be a part of this team.”
The players, Ian Fragomeni, Robbie Lockhart, Brandon Covre, Christopher Cola, Conner Miceli, Daniel Lapiccirella, Daniel Marrano, Francesco Grande, Jake Simpson, Joshua Hall, Julian Bozzo, Kyle Dalton, Kyle Stuckless, Liam Keelan, Matt D'urzo, Matt Ficele and Nick Zanelli would like to thank their parents for all their support, and, also to thank everyone at the Caledon Minor Hockey Association.
Special thanks also to The Hawks Midget MD Sponsors; Melzer TV, Grand-X Transportation Inc., Nu Force Electric and New City Property Management for all their support over the season.
