McCallion nominated to airports authority

Former Mississauga mayor Hazel McCallion is one of two nominees to the Greater Toronto Airports Authority's board of directors.
The announcement was made Monday by Transportation Minister Marc Garneau.
McCallion, 96, served as the Mayor of Mississauga from 1978 to 2014, and is the longest-serving mayor in the city's history. She has participated in and led many initiatives locally, provincially, nationally and internationally. In 2015, she was appointed as the first Chancellor of Sheridan College.
The other nominee is Kathleen L. Keller-Hobson, who currently serves on the board of directors of CCL Industries Inc. and Premium Brands Holdings Corporation.
“I am pleased to announce that these highly qualified Canadians have agreed to serve in the transportation sector,” Garneau said. “They bring a wealth of experience and their nomination will ensure continued good governance.”
