Mayor’s View: Holidays and coming homeLast month I did something I've never done before – I went on vacation for longer than one week. The past year has had its ups and downs and for me and my wife Anne this holiday was a much need break. A time to reflect and refresh. We drove west as far as we could go. We stood on the ice fields, walked at the foot of the mountains, took in breathtaking landscapes, skies, lakes and rivers. It was an adventure. It really makes you think about how big and amazing Canada is. It was a fantastic, memory making trip and yet we were ready to come home. On the drive home, I thought a lot about Caledon and all it could be. I'm excited at the possibilities and ready to get back to working with Council, the community and staff in creating a bright future for our community of communities. Midnight Madness There's so much going on in Caledon this time of year. We have our farm stores and markets, hiking trails and parks, events and celebrations. This Friday August 9th, is Bolton Midnight Madness. A big shout out to Councillor Groves and Councillor Rosa who have worked so hard fundraising and pulling together a group of dedicated volunteers. it's shaping up to an awesome night of family fun, food and entertainment. I encourage residents from all over Caledon to come and support the Bolton community and businesses. Caledon Mayor Allan Thompson |
