morrisonPeel Living is the Region of Peel's non-profit housing company.
Also known as Peel Housing Corporation, it operates as an independent Corporation of the Region of Peel and is administered by the Region's Housing and Property department.
Peel Living is a leader in creating and managing innovative housing projects. It is the largest landlord in the Region of Peel and the third largest social housing provider in Ontario, providing homes to 7,100 residents in 70 sites.
Peel Living's approach to building stronger communities is based upon mixing tenancies with varying income levels and a commitment to providing well-maintained living environments in each of its thousands of apartment and townhouse units.
Peel Access to Housing (PATH) program monitors, maintains and updates the social housing centralized wait list. Social housing is housing funded by various government programs in which eligible tenants pay reduced rents based on their income.
You can apply for so social housing by completing and filing an application with PATH. Applications are available for pick up at the PATH office at 10 Peel Centre Dr., Suite B, in Brampton, from the Region's website at www.peelregion.ca/housing/social/ or by calling PATH at 905-453-1300 to have an application mailed to you.
PATH staff will be happy to assist you in completing an application at their office or answer your questions over the telephone. Completed applications can be dropped off at the office or mailed in.
Currently there is a waiting list for social housing in Peel. You will be placed on this waiting list once you have submitted a complete application and have been determined eligible for social housing.
Because of the high demand for subsidized housing, the wait may take many years. If you have nowhere to stay and are in immediate need of shelter, contact Ontario Works in Peel which helps those in need find emergency accommodation. They can be reached at 905-793-9200 during business hours (8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m., Monday to Friday) or through the After Hours Line at 905-451-6208 at all other times.
