Maskell running for seat in Wards 3 and 4

By Bill Rea
Doug Maskell said he's always thought of getting into politics, and having turned 50 this year, he decided this was the time.
Maskell has entered the race for the area seat for Wards 3 and 4 on Caledon council in next month's municipal elections.
He said the biggest concern in town involves the development situation, and he wants to make sure things are clear and transparent.
“There's been a lot of pressure on the community,” he observed, adding he wants to stand up for the area.
Maskell is head of guidance at Humberview Secondary School in Bolton. Married with two children, he's lived in the area of Centreville Creek Road and Old Church Road for 14 years. He's also president of Friends of Caledon Public Library and sits on the executive of the Caledon Coyotes Hockey Association.
“Running against an incumbent is always difficult,” Maskell said, commenting on his chances of being elected. “Democratic renewal is always a good thing.
