March break at PAMA March 12 to 18 PAMA is the March break creativity destination. Experience great family events and activities, and explore colourful hands-on exhibitions in the historic spaces. Each day, enjoy a community colouring experience all about food and furry friends. Children must be accompanied by an adult. March 12 • Tree Boy, presented by To Be Determined Theatre Company, will run at 11 a.m. and 1:30 p.m. This event has a limited capacity, so arrive early and tickets will be available on a first-come-first-served basis. • Dog Day, presented by the Lions Foundation of Canada Dog Guides from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. Meet a guide dog and learn about working dogs • Family Fun Activity will run from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. There will be chances to sculpt tiny food art. March 13 • Animal Face Painting will run from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. • Family Fun Yoga will go for 30 to 45 minutes at 10:30 a.m. and 2 p.m. This event has a limited capacity, so arrive early and tickets will be available on a first-come-first-served basis. • Stretch and play together with local studio Kaulika Yoga and Pilates. • Family Fun Activity will take place from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. Select materials and make a work of art in the Art Buffet. March 14 • Let's Play with Play Outdoors Peel, presented by Ecosource, from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. Play outdoor creative activities on PAMA's historic grounds (weather permitting — the activities will be brought indoors, if required by weather). • Family Fun Activity will run from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. Explore some simple machines that were used by early settlers and design your very own invention. March 15 • Let's Dance, presented by Akoma Afro Dance will be at 10:30 a.m. and 1:30 p.m. (40-minute program). Move to different genres from traditional African to folk Caribbean. This event has a limited capacity, so arrive early and tickets will be available on a first-come-first-served basis. • Family Fun Activity will be from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. Move, shake and create musical instruments. March 16 • Animal Face Painting will be from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. • Dog Day, presented by the Lions Foundation of Canada Dog Guides, will be from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. Meet a guide dog and learn about working dogs. • Family Fun Activity will be from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. Have some figure drawing fun and create your own work of art. March 17 Celebrate Family Fun Day — all about our furry friends! • Family Art and Yoga with local studio Kaulika Yoga and Pilates, from 1 to 2:30 p.m. • Family Art and Stories, from 2:45 to 3:45 p.m. • Special Family Tour of the Beyond Sit and Stay exhibition, from 4 to 4:30 p.m. • Family Fun Activity (all day drop-in). Create your very own wiggle pet. March 18 • A Corn Husk Doll Making Workshop will take place from 2 to 3:30 p.m. Learn the traditional teachings behind this activity and create a corn husk doll with the Peel Aboriginal Network. Registration is required. Great Adult Opportunities • Connections Art and Book Club in partnership with Brampton Library, will take place tonight (Thursday) from 7 to 8:30 p.m. Literature and storytelling connect in this fun and inspiring book club. This month's choice is Through a Dog's Eyes by Jennifer Arnold. This is a free event, but register through the Brampton Library by calling 905-753-4636. • Brampton Folk Club Concert will also take place tonight from 7 to 8:30 p.m. Inspired by the new exhibition about Dogs in our Service, this month is all about walking the dog and will feature the St. Paul's Blues Band and The McKnights. The event is included in the cost of admission. • Peel Aboriginal Drumming Circle will be March 15 from 7 to 8:30 p.m. PAMA and the Peel Aboriginal Network (PAN) invites everyone to participate in an evening of shared traditions and songs. Free admission to this activity only. • Animal Portrait Workshop will be March 25 from 1:30 to 3:30 p.m. Bring a favourite photo of a fur baby. In this workshop, learn painting techniques while designing a pet portrait to remember. The cost is $10 for members and $15 for non-members. Registration is required. PAMA is a place to explore and learn about Peel Region's culture and heritage, and to converse, question and tell stories to help make new and fascinating connections to the surrounding community.
