Lots of information at Headwaters Food Summit




The second annual Headwaters Food Summit and Local Trade Fair attracted lots of attention Monday. There were many local businesses and farms displaying their goods at the Trade Fair that followed the Summit, including Hidden Meadows Farm near Caledon village. Deborah Robillard and Andrew Sharko were showing some of their produce from their small farm, including their specialty, Ontario garlic. They also said they use no chemicals or pesticides, growing according to organic practices. Photos by Bill Rea

The keynote speaker was Loblaw Research Chair of Sustainable Agriculture at the University of Guelph Dr. Ralph Martin, who addressed the concept of building a local food system on a globalizing world.
