Lots of excitement at Millpond Classic




The sixth annual Millpond Classic took place on the ponds at Alton Mill and Millcroft Inn Saturday, with proceeds going to the Alton Millpond Rehabilitation. The highlight was the game between the Caledon Notables against representatives to the Alton business community. The Notables won 8-5. The team members lined up behind Town Crier Andrew Welch for the trophy presentation were Caledon OPP Inspector Tim Melanson, Fire Chief (and coach) David Forfar, Janice Groux, Public Works Director David Loveridge, Mayor Allan Thompson, Deputy Fire Chief Darryl Bailey, Steve Hayward and Nancy Blackwell. The day included a novice hockey tournament, with the Caledon Hawks facing the Orangeville Flyers in the final. Orangeville won 5-4.
