The sixth annual Millpond Classic took place on the ponds at Alton Mill and Millcroft Inn Saturday, with proceeds going to the Alton Millpond Rehabilitation. The highlight was the game between the Caledon Notables against representatives to the Alton business community. The Notables won 8-5. The team members lined up behind Town Crier Andrew Welch for the trophy presentation were Caledon OPP Inspector Tim Melanson, Fire Chief (and coach) David Forfar, Janice Groux, Public Works Director David Loveridge, Mayor Allan Thompson, Deputy Fire Chief Darryl Bailey, Steve Hayward and Nancy Blackwell.

The day included a novice hockey tournament, with the Caledon Hawks facing the Orangeville Flyers in the final. Orangeville won 5-4.

Girls' hockey action saw this atom match between the Caledon Coyotes and the Orangeville Tigers. The Tigers won the game 20-12.

Caledon Town Crier Andrew Welch scored one of the goals for the victorious Caledon Notables.

David Loveridge, the Town's director of public works, was suited up for the notables.

Hall of Fame retired NHL Linesman Ray Scapinello handled some of the officiating duties during the Millpond Classic.

Caledon OPP Inspector Tim Melanson was playing rearguard action for the Notables.

Randy Ugolini handled the ceremonial faceoff duties against Mayor Allan Thompson of the Caledon Notables and Betty Starr representing Alton businesses.
