Learn to care for land and water with CVCFind out how to make the most of a rural property with guidance from Credit Valley Conservation (CVC). CVC invites landowners to participate in its upcoming Caring for Your Land and Water workshop. The event takes place March 7, from 9:30 a.m. to 2:30 p.m. at Centre 2000, Erin. “This workshop is a great way for landowners to learn about rural property management,” said CVC Director of Restoration and Stewardship Mike Puddister. “We provide landowners with tools and information to make environmental improvements on their property.” Workshop participants will create a Landowner Action Plan for their properties and will be eligible to apply for a new CVC funding program for rural landowners. The Landowner Action Fund provides grants to rural landowners for environmental projects, such as well abandonment, stream restoration, tree planting, invasive plant control, native plant gardening and more. Grant funding ranges from 50 to 100 per cent. Grants are subject to eligibility and grant caps. Lunch will be provided at the workshop and all participants will receive custom maps of their property. Workshops are free, thanks to funding from CVC's regional and municipal partners. Interested landowners should reside in the Credit River watershed and own at least one acre of rural property.
