CVC invites landowners to participate in its upcoming Caring for Your Land and Water workshop. The event takes place this Saturday (July 12) from 9:30 a.m. to 2:30 p.m. at the Watershed Learning Centre inside Terra Cotta Conservation Area, 14452 Winston Churchill Blvd. “These workshops are a great way for landowners to learn about rural property management,” said CVC's Director of Restoration and Stewardship Mike Puddister. “We provide landowners with tools and information to make environmental improvements on their property.” To date, more than 500 landowners have participated in CVC's Caring for Your Land and Water and Caring for Your Horse and Farm workshops. Each workshop explores a variety of topics including forest management, wetlands, septic systems, water wells and landscaping with native plants. Workshops are guided by Your Guide to Caring for the Credit; a handbook designed to help landowners assess their properties. Lunch is provided at the workshop, and all participants receive custom aerial photos and maps of their property. Workshops are free, owing to funding from CVC's regional and municipal partners. Interested landowners should reside in the Credit River watershed and own at least one acre of rural property.
