Laugh Out Loud was big success for CPCC

Ten years ago, the signature fundraising event of Caledon Parent-Child Centre (CPCC), Laugh Out Loud, was born.
The vision of a small group CPCC staff and volunteers, Laugh Out Loud was originally developed to raise funds to respond to mothers calling out for help from the darkness of postpartum depression. The idea was to create an event where women could support women, the “quintessential girl's night out.” Thanks to the Caledon community's support, more than $140,000 has been raised through Laugh Out Loud to date.
I am proud to announce that our 10th anniversary of this fabulous event had profits totaling more than $21,700. Proceeds from this event help to fund programs that strengthen families, including infant development and parenting support. As the community's leading provider of support services for families with young children, we are committed to expanding our capacity. Fundraising events such as Laugh Out Loud allow us to help meet the needs of our growing community and would not be possible without our generous supporters.
Our sincere thanks to our 2014 event sponsors whose generous financial support made Laugh Out Loud possible: Garden Foods; Fines Ford Lincoln Sales and Services; BMO Bank of Montreal, Bolton; The Bill Parnaby Team, Royal LePage RCR Realty; R.B. Sommerville; MEI International Academy; Titanium Trucking Services; Sensory Garden Child Development Centre and our media sponsor, Snapd Caledon. A special thank you to Scotiabank, Bolton for dollar matching ticket sales and assisting with Mystery Prize sales, all of which culminated in a donation of $5,000. I also wish to acknowledge the many community-minded individuals and businesses who donated items for our auction and those who made in-kind donations.
My heartfelt appreciation goes out to our incredible past and present volunteers whose collective energy have helped to bring this event to life year after year. I would especially like to highlight our 2014 Event Organizing Committee for their dynamic talents and selfless dedication: Alysia McAuslan, Carol Medhurst, Janneth Viteri, Kristen Werry, Lorella Pipitone, Maureen Thornton, Megan Roy O'Brien, Meredith Taylor, Micheline Mooney-Green, Nicole Deckert, Norma Calandra, Pamela Seidel, Sandhya Singh, Sandy Fortura, Sarah Neal and Teresa Colasanti. And our sincere gratitude to the management and the staff of The Royal Ambassador for helping us host another spectacular event.
Finally, thank you so much to all the ladies — past and present — who have helped to make Laugh Out Loud Caledon's “Quintessential Girls Night Out.” Your attendance and support each year is what makes this event such a success. LOL 2014 was a sensational evening of friendship, food and fun and we look forward to seeing you all again next year.
