Jump Canada Hall of Fame celebrates four new inductees

The Jump Canada Hall of Fame welcomed four new inductees during its ninth annual Induction Ceremony and Gala, presented by BMO Financial Group Nov. 8, Including Equestrian Management Group (EMG), which operates the Caledon Equestrian Park.
EMG was inducted as a Builder Organization.
The other inductees are: Builder (Individual) — Moffat Dunlap; Coach — Doug Hood (posthumously); and Jumper Horse — Rio Grande, owned by Augustin and Christine Walch.
Held as part of a black-tie gala, the Jump Canada Hall of Fame Gala has grown into an annual favourite. Videos commemorating each inductee's contributions to the sport were a highlight of the evening. Friends and associates of the inductees were called upon to present the distinct Hall of Fame awards, making for a very special evening recalling the sport's greatest memories.
“It is an honour and privilege to mount the Hall of Fame Gala each year,” said Hall of Fame Chairman Mark Samuel. “It always proves to be a magical evening of celebration, friendship and great story telling. It is so important for our community to celebrate our shared legacy and our champions.”
The Hall of Fame was created in 2006 to recognize outstanding contributions to hunter/jumper sport. To date, 53 champions have been welcomed, including 19 horses and ponies, 24 humans, six organizations and four teams.
The Jump Canada Hall of Fame committee is comprised of Samuel, Jennifer Anstey, Evie Frisque, Muffie Guthrie, Dalene Paine, Phil Rozon, Jennifer Ward and Nancy Wetmore.
Jump Canada is the committee of Equine Canada responsible for all hunter, equitation and jumper activities in Canada from the grass roots to the international level. Jump Canada is governed by a board, the majority of whose members are elected by the stakeholders in the sport.
