Information session Wednesday — King Street to be closed to finish BARKing Street from Coleraine Drive to the former Duffy's Lane (just east of the north leg of Harvest Moon Drive), will be closed to vehicle traffic for construction. The work is in advance of the new Emil Kolb Parkway (Bolton bypass) opening this summer. The closure will take place from May 19 to June 1. Peel Region will be holding an information session this coming Wednesday (May 13) for residents around De Rose Avenue, Chickadee Lane, Duffy's Lane and Harvest Moon to learn about access to their local streets during the construction closure and the proposed construction staging. Information on the new roundabouts will also be presented. It will start at 6:30 p.m. in Room C at Albion-Bolton Community Centre. Local access to Duffy's Lane, Harvest Moon Drive, Chickadee Lane and De Rose Avenue will be maintained for residents during the closure. Once the newly paved stretch of King Street re-opens, traffic barrels will still be in place to guide drivers through the zone accordingly. Vehicles, especially trucks, are advised to follow the official detour route using Mayfield Road for east-west movement. Detour signage will be in place. To head west from Coleraine, detour south on Coleraine Drive, then west along Mayfield Road, north along The Gore Road until King Street to resume westbound travel. Eastbound traffic on King Street should head south on The Gore Road, east along Mayfield Road, north along Coleraine Drive, and then resume eastbound at King Street. To minimize the dates required for the road closure, be aware that normal construction hours from 7 a.m. to 7 p.m. may be extended from 6 a.m. to 11 p.m., as is permitted under the Town of Caledon's Noise Bylaw. Night work may also be necessary to expedite construction. |
