The Humberview senior girls nordic ski team was victorious in claiming the gold medal ROPSSA championship for the sprint relay. It was a hard-fought battle to unseat the strong Mayfield Mavericks, who have earned the title every year. The senior girls, Melissa Blackwell, Julie French, Julia Ward and Laura Deare, all gave a strong performance earning them the opportunity to compete at the OFSSA championship in Sudbury next week. Below, the junior boys and junior girls relay teams both earned silver medals for Humberview, qualifying them for OFSSA also. The boys' team saw good results from Dawson Hemphill, Evan McDermott, Karson Proulx and Matthew Reynolds. Senior boy Eric Deare placed fifth. The junior girls team had some great individual results, including Ali Jordon (first), Abbi Walker (sixth), Mia Cadeax and Liza Knill. All Humberview nordic skiers had a fantastic day competing at ROPSSA. A special thank you to coach Mrs. Leyshon-Doughty.
