As many as 20 to 30,000 people are expected to come in and out of the Albion-Bolton Fairgrounds throughout the day on July 1.

An annual Mela — a celebration of art, culture, music, food and more — will be held at the fairgrounds that day and anyone is welcome to come.

Admission and parking to the event are free, and many Punjabi musicians are traveling into Bolton from around the world to perform.

Upkaran Dheria, of Bolton-baed Indian restaurant Mohan Dhabba, said the event has been going on for almost ten years and has been held at locations such as the Bramalea GO Station, Woodbine and Sheridan Plaza.

This year, it's coming to Caledon for the first time.

Dheria explained Mohan Dhabba is part of a group that's working together to organize the event. The group includes the following: Prince Sandhu, Team Hansra Real Estate, and SD Transport & Recovery. Dheria said the event is going to be a place where people can come together and have fun.

“I think it's one of the biggest events happening in Bolton so far, that's what the fairground owners told us,” said Dheria. “We usually have about 10,000 people sitting at once. We have singers come [from] all over the world… we also have vendors, business owners [promoting] their own businesses. We have people who give out free waters, there's going to be food stalls. It's a huge outdoor concert.”
